Padma Pallitathya Kendra organised an information fair at Shoilmari village, Ganna union, Jhenaidah on February 13, 2009 under the Abolombon II project. More than 1000 rural people directly got benefit from the day long programme. The programme was focused to provide both information service using ICTs and consultation service on health and law issues for the community people. 224 people including a large number of woman and children got health care information and treatment facilities. 107 people directly received information and consultation services regarding their law related queries. Local expert panel Doctor Azizur Rahman, Doctor Shafiqur Islam and Advocate Masum Billah were present in the programme to provide consultation service on health and law related queries. Around 300 people got benefit from different livelihood information based audio-visual and animation content exhibition. Finally a quiz competition was arranged to understand the knowledge level of students about the Padma Pallitathya Kendra and the importance of information for their livelihood, where around 400 students participated. It is to be noted that the information fair is a strong tool for promotion and marketing of Pallitathya Kendra services and building network with local service providers as well as reaching the Pallitathya services to the rural community quickly.
Mr. Md. Samsul Alam, Acting Chairman, Ganna Union was present as chief guest in the inaugural and closing session of the day long programme. Mr. Mobasher Ali, local citizen chaired the session and Mr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Executive Director, Padma hosted the programme in the community.
