RDRS Bangladesh signed MoU with D.Net to receive technical support for establishment of Jano Tathya Kendra. It is to be mentioned that RDRS Bangladesh is one of the most prominent organizations in the Northwest Bangladesh. They are implementing a project titled ‘Empowering the Poor through Federations (EPF)’ aims to empower the rural poor to claim their rights by way of critical engagement with local government, through representative, effective and well-governed community based organisations. They have been planed to establish 25 CBO/NGO Support Cells (Jano Tathya Kendra) under the project in 2008 in the northern districts of Bangladesh. Trained technical Support Volunteers will operate those Jano Tathya Kendra.
Regarding this, D.Net delivered the 6 days long training programme in 2 batches for 25 volunteers and 3 RDRS staffs. The first and second batch training programme was conducted on November 30-December 05 and December 13-18, 2008 respectively. In addition to that D.Net provided 25 sets of Jeeon Information and Knowledge base (offline livelihood content in Bangla); Telecentre Management Software (TMS); telecentre operation manual, basic computer operation manual and necessary materials for their Jono Tathya Kendra.
