Regional workshop "Telecentre: Bridging Opportunities" held in Noakhali under CLICK Project 

Digonter Dak and Gandhi Ashram Trust jointly organised a regional workshop titled "Telecentre: Bridging Opportunities" at BRDB auditorium, Noakhali on 22 May 2008 under the project of CLICK. Workshop objectives were to link the IT skilled human resources with job market aswell as share the telecentre concept with potential local organisationswho can either recruit these human resources at their ICTprojects or replicate the telecentre model.

Inaugural session of the workshop

Mr. Abdul Hoque, District Commissioner, Noakhali was the chief guestin the inaguration session of the workshop. Secretary of Gandhi Asram Trust Ms. Jharna DharaChoudhury chaired the session. Mr. Mahmud Hasan, Chief OperatingOfficer, Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN) presented the theme of Mission 2011. Mr. Md. Forhad Uddin,Deputy Director, D.Net presented the model and prospect of CLICK project. Around 200 participants from different NGOs, GOs, civil society, Telecentre practitioners, academician, students, youths attained in the day long workshop.     

The workshop design was as follows:

First session: Inauguration of workshop (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM)  
  1. Share the experience of CLICK project: Md. Forhad Uddin, D.Net
  2. Share the idea and progress of BTN's Mission 2011: Mr. Mahmud   Hasan, BTN
  3. Storytelling of local organizations in replicating telecentre at their location
  • D.Net project partners: Chief of Digonter Dak and Gandhi Ashram Trust
  • Other telecentre operator: Chief of PRAN and Representative of CLC
  • Beneficiaries: Information recipients from Joyag, Noakhali
  • Graduates: IT skills training recipients from Maijdee, Noakhali
Second session: Knowledge sharing and open discussion (12:30 to 3:30 PM)
  1. Share experiences with local opinion leaders (Telecentre operators, NGOs, GOs, Private Sectors etc.)
  2. Open discussion
  3. Exercise: How to build a telecentre
  4. Closing
